Making Waves in Healthcare

In 2015 Annette was pregnant with twins when she went on medical bed rest and lost her job. While in the hospital, she was inspired by the nurses to help people with disabilities in the healthcare field.

Six months later, Annette connected with the WorkSmart Network for help going back to school. She enrolled in her local WIOA program for help making the transition into a nursing carer. Help has come in the form of tuition assistance, transportation support and referrals to partner programs. With help from her Career Planner, she’s in her final semester of her program at Madison Area Technical College. Her credential, along with her career readiness supports form WIOA, provide her a bright outlook with median earning potential at $34.48 per hour and plentiful job options in one of the region’s high-demand industries.

I would like to say thank you WorkSmart for giving me this great opportunity. I basically couldn’t have done it without you. It’s helped me significantly. Every little help, emotional help, the financial help, has gotten me to where I am.
