Business partner supports GuidEd, YA to build workforce.
Todd Lassanske, General Manager at McFarlane Manufacturing, is an advocate for workforce development programs and initiatives.
He actively supports industry partnership work as a member of the Manufacturing Alliance where he provides valuable insight into the skill needs of the industry. Todd recently invested time to support GuidEd – an initiative designed to inform high school students about the careers in manufacturing through company tours and information sessions. He worked closely with the WDBSCW to pivot the initiative to a virtual model during the pandemic, and back again to in-person sessions.
Todd also promotes career pathway strategies for youth and in 2021 encouraged his organization to expand and double its Youth Apprenticeship opportunities.
At the 2021 WDBSCW Annual Awards Celebration, Todd received the Champions in Action Award for his collaboration with the WDBSCW.
“The partnership with the Workforce Development Board has really broadened […] our awareness, our collaboration and maybe even more specifically our understanding of the various programs that are available and the educational opportunities that we’ve taken advantage of over the years […] And last but not least the Youth Apprenticeship Program has been a huge success for us and that was really introduced to us through the Workforce Development Board.”
