WIOA Matches Job Seeker with New Career

A laid off worker makes $100K after WIOA programs.

Our South Central WIOA Dislocated Worker participant learned about the free career and training services available to them through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) during a Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) session with our WIOA Title 3 partner, Wisconsin Job Service.

The customer was facing a layoff and wanted assistance finding a new job that offered the same six-figure income they previously earned.

Shortly after enrolling in the WIOA Dislocated Worker Program, the participant experienced company hiring freezes due to the pandemic. But they remained motivated and continued to engage with their WIOA Career Planner for work search assistance.

In early 2021, the individual decided to obtain their MBA and in July 2021, accepted a position with an international drug company working in business development. The job also offered a six figure base salary that matched what they previously earned.

“I enjoy my new position and am very thankful for the assistance from the WorkSmart Network.”
