WDBSCW Honors Participants, Employers at 2021 Annual Awards Celebration

MADISON, December 17, 2021 – The Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin (WDBSCW) honored four individuals with the Aspire Award and two community leaders with the Champions in Action Award during the 38th Annual Awards Celebration on December 8, 2021.

The Aspire Award dates back to 2002 and acknowledges individuals for their dedication and achievements in the WDBSCW’s programming that’s offered in collaboration with the WorkSmart Network and partners. The award compliments individuals for the ambition and commitment needed to overcome personal and professional obstacles to reach their career and life goals.

Through the years, the award has honored more than 55 individuals across South Central Wisconsin. The recipients of the 2021 Aspire Award include:

  • Jose Aguilar
  • Marlene Thompson
  • Melanie Platt
  • Shar-Ron Buie

The Champions in Action Award has recognized area businesses and leaders for their commitment and support to the WDBSCW since 1994. The awardees advocate for innovative workforce solutions and are leaders in developing new strategies and implementing strong initiatives.

The recipients of the 2021 Champions in Action Award include:

  • Claudine Baccheschi – Aprilaire
  • Todd Lassanske – McFarlane Manufacturing

Three of the Aspire Awardees participated on a panel during the celebration to share stories and successes while in the WDBSCW’s workforce programs, as well as their future goals.
