Youth Programs

Youth Apprenticeships

Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship (YA) integrates school and work-based learning to educate students on employability and professional skills. Students are instructed by qualified trainers and worksite mentors while enrolled in classes to meet high school graduation requirements & are employed by a business under the supervision of a skilled mentor.

Independent Living

The IL program is designed to support young adults transitioning out of foster care. Our team works with you to build on your strengths, needs, talents and unique interests to move you towards the goals you’ve set for yourself.

Youth Advisory Council (YAC)

Consisting of current and former foster care young adults, YAC's mission is to improve youth experience within the system through education, advocacy and awareness. Members advocate for youth in foster care and educate government systems as well as the public on issues surrounding the foster system. YAC members begin on regional councils but can also be members of the Statewide Council.

STEPS

The STEPS Program is designed to help eligible high school students get started on the pathway to a successful future with education, paid work opportunities, job shadowing, resume building, and more supportive services like possible funding for transportation, job assistance, and life challenges.

GuidEd

GuidEd is designed to connect young adults to local businesses to learn about the various pathways available in a number of industries. The program provides company tours, hands-on activities, and more for K-12 students to explore careers in a chosen industry.
