WDBSCW Hosts Annual Luncheon, Honors Business and Aspire Award Recipients

MADISON, December 17, 2018 — The Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin (WDBSCW) honored 5 individuals with its Aspire Awards and 3 business leaders with the Making a Difference Awards during the organization’s 35th Annual Board of Directors Meeting and Luncheon on December 8.

The Luncheon also celebrated 35 years of dedication to innovation and excellence in workforce development.

The Aspire Award honors individuals for outstanding success and achievements in South Central Wisconsin Workforce Development area workforce development programs offered in collaboration with the WDBSCW, WorkSmart Network and partners. Nominees for the award demonstrated the motivation and persistence needed to overcome obstacles to reach their career goals.

The recipients of the 2018 Aspire Awards include:

  • ShawnaRae Bruch
  • Allison Burcham
  • Corey Nutter
  • Preet Pangi
  • Andora Robertson

The Board also recognized 3 business leaders with the 2018 Making a Difference Award. Since 1994, the award has served as an expression of gratitude and acknowledgement of the special efforts area businesses and leaders dedicate to help the Workforce Development Board build and implement workforce solutions for their industries as a whole.

This year the Making a Difference Award was presented to:

  • Madison-Kipp Corporation
  • Pam Christenson of Madison Gas & Electric
  • Paul Scharfman of Specialty Cheese Company

A panel of experts discussed developments within the information and communications technology industry. Panelists included Craig Kettleson of Madison Region Economic Partnership, Mark Gehring of HealthMyne, Forrest Woolworth of PerBlue, and Ryan Rist of American Family Insurance.
