Rapid Response Session
WIOA Dislocated Worker Program
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Dislocated Worker Program is designed to help individuals who have lost their job through no fault of their own, often due to layoffs, company closures, or other situations beyond their control. If you are a displaced worker, this program can provide essential services to help you find new employment, gain new skills, and get back on your feet quickly.
Services
The WIOA Dislocated Worker Program provides a variety of services designed to support your job search and career development. These services (provided in partnership with the WorkSmart Network) can include:

Career Counseling & Case Management
Work one-on-one with a career counselor who can assess your skills, experience, and interests. They will help you create an individualized career plan to guide your job search and provide ongoing support.

Training and Education
WIOA can help you gain new skills or certifications that are in demand in today’s job market. This may include funding for vocational training, community college courses, and other educational opportunities that improve your employability.

Job Search Assistance
Receive help with job hunting, resume writing, and interview preparation. Additionally, you may have access to job fairs, employer networking events, and online job boards that connect you to job opportunities.

Financial Assistance for Training and Support Services
WIOA may help cover the costs of training programs, certifications, and other resources to support your reemployment. Financial assistance may also be available for transportation, childcare, or other work-related needs.

Reemployment Services
WIOA offers specialized programs to help you re-enter the workforce quickly. These may include workshops, group counseling sessions, or direct referrals to employers with job openings that match your skills.

On-the-Job Training (OJT) & Internships
Participate in on-the-job training or internships where you can earn while learning new skills in a real-world work environment. These programs provide employers with financial incentives to hire and train dislocated workers.
How to Get Started
Getting started with the WIOA Program is simple:

Contact the WorkSmart Network Team
Visit your local American Job Center (AJC) or contact the team to schedule an appointment.

Complete the Eligibility Process
You will be asked to complete an eligibility assessment to determine your qualifications for the program. This may involve providing documentation such as unemployment benefits information, or proof of employment authorization.

Work with a Career Planner
Once approved, a Career Planner will guide you through the available services and help you develop a personalized plan to help you return to work quickly.
