Who We Are

Mission

Our mission is to build public and private partnerships that support innovation and excellence in workforce development. We dedicate time, talent and financial resources to: CollaborationFlexibility, Innovation, Regionalism, Customer Focus, Fiscal Integrity and Valuing People.

We adapt to the changing economic environment and respond to the pressures felt by workers, businesses and communities in our 6-county region. Because our role is to build bridges and forge partnerships that strengthen the workforce, we are driven to deliver solutions that work for businesses, workers and communities to make our region a better place to work and do business.

One of the primary responsibilities of the Workforce Development Board is the administration of workforce development initiatives and programs funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Through our work, we’ve become a national leader in our ability to form strategic partnerships that result in ground-breaking solutions to workforce development challenges. Today, we continue to strive for innovation in everything we do to ensure a healthy economy for Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Jefferson, Marquette and Sauk Counties.
